Sometimes we are cantering along with big velocity and come to a full stop. I pause to remember, honor and grieve my cousin Ellen, who passed last Thursday. She was a lovely, quiet, smiling, kind, compassionate young woman who was stopped short. I believe we were doing telepathy in the beginning, as English was a second language for her, and she was shy on top of it all. There was always something transferred through her eyes and her giggle, while words were secondary. Many, many, students have been blessed by her, both here and abroad. She was adventurous and bold. She taught English in Thailand and South Korea as well as was in the Peace Corp in Sierra Leone. Now, her family, my Uncle Bob and Linda, are mystified by her silent passing into the other world, and need your support, prayers, and loving ability to hold space for them as they sift through the mystery. The students that she embraced with kindness will also miss her. The world is a kinder, gentler place for having Ellen among us. RIP.
