Sometimes we become so complacent in our homes, in our routines, - TopicsExpress

Sometimes we become so complacent in our homes, in our routines, we do not see the shifting of the tides. We do not notice the pull of the undertow. Then one day we wake up drowning in our own messes wondering how life got so suddenly complicated. Those things that brought us so much joy on their arrival in our lives now possess us. I look around my home and realize this was not my vision for where I wanted to be with this place 10 years down the road. I have 10 years of life lived here under my belt and need to clean this place out. Thats what spring cleaning is for. My daughter-in-law, Kristi Marie Payne, was here yesterday helping me out. She really was good at getting me sorting it all out. I appreciate her help and may just have to steal her from my son for another couple days till I can see this house back into some sembeance of order. After walking through the fire at Ricks house, I realize I need to lighten up my load. I have everything from furniture to clothing to get rid of. I will be doing a major sweep of every room. I will also be selling the enitre Christmas village scene (minus six houses to be kept for the mantel). It took up my whole 16x17 front room when assembled. The village was a huge joy (although a pain to put up) over the years and we were glad to share it with the community, but with Richard gone to the nursing home, my Christmases have changed and I am not up to doing the village any longer. I believe at last count there were over fifty buildings and about 250 citizens of Christmas town. I will keep the figures who occupy the houses that I hold on to and the rest will go with the village, animated pieces, backdrop, lights, snow, and all. I am at an age where it is time to lighten up my load and make life much less complicated. The life i was living ten years ago does not exist today. I must adjust my sails toward that or capsize from the weight of it. I choose sail on where the wind blows, unencumbered by the cargo I no longer need. I am just not up for a yard sale this time around. The larger things Ill sell online along with valuables. I will be boxing things for goodwill just as fast as I can locate the boxes to do so. I am working at this a little helter skelter as one batch of boxes in a room leads me to cleaning out a space elsewhere so there is no great rhyme or reason to my plan. If you are in need of something, message me and I will let you know if I have it and am parting with it. I have 20 rooms of work ahead of me, not counting the two garages and the basement. I will be busy for a while:o)
