Sometimes, we just need to rethink it... I wonder if Jesus, and the Apostles, would find it disturbing how much emphasis is put on making people comfortable in church; How much time we spend focusing on certain age groups; and How much energy we expend trying to meet every social need? Their example to us was to simply share the Gospel with whomsoever; Teach the uncompromising truth of Gods word; Show Godly love to those around us; and Then to hold those accountable who professed Christ, to grow in their faith (since they have been converted). Is adequate parking, proper signage, following the 80% capacity rule, and being aware of modern culture a sin? No; but those things do not help the unrepentant become holy. People must be born-again; and it is never comfortable facing the fact that (without faith in Jesus Christ) you are a sinner on your way to a devils hell. • (John 3:3, 16-18) 3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”; 16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. • (Ephesians 2:8-10) 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. • (Romans 6:1-4) 1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? 3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
