Sometimes we limit God by our little faith Faith knows God will do it!–And He does! — Because God loves us, He tries to be as good to us as possible. As long as we’re doing our best to do what’s right and what we’re asking Him for is good for us, He will give it to us. “No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly” (Psalm 84:11). But sometimes, the Bible tells us, we have not because we ask not (James 4:2). So if you really need something, pray it in. Just be careful what you ask God to do for you, because He’ll often take you literally; He will take you exactly at your word. The story is told of a man who prayed, “Lord, I need a car. I’m desperate for a car! Please give me a car—any old car!“—And that’s exactly what he got, a real clunker! So the next time he needed a car he prayed for a good one, and he got it! God is very definite, so be definite with Him. He’ll give you what you ask for and what you have the faith for (Matthew 7:7-8; 9:29). God will give you what you have faith for, and you should have faith for what you need. If the need is there, the answer must be there too, so look around and pray it in. — Matthew 8:26 And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. (Jesus speaking to His Apostles) Matthew 14:29-31 He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” Matthew 17:20 He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Jesus Speaking) Luke 12:27-28 “Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! (Jesus speaking) — Jesus, please help me to always have faith in you. When tough times come, please help me not to forgot that you are still in control, that you are at the end of my life looking back and seeing that everything had a purpose. Please give me faith, faith that will help me have calm in the storms of life, and that will keep me holding on to you, and benefiting from it.
