Sometimes when I feel a little stiff the only thing that really helps is more backbends. Rather than just sticking to the traditional three on days where I need a little extra warm up I do more drop backs instead of skipping them. If you have the technique solid then try linking each backbend together so that you exhale back, inhale up, exhale back, etc. and allow all the drop backs to flow together.
