Sometimes when I give directions to visitors that will take their car from here on North Main to where they want to go on Spring Street, I think they think Im making things up. Because I wont send anyone up Mountain Street, And Hillside is a challenge because its so far down the road and requires multiple steps. I say go up and turn around and take the left side of the fork this time. Which I think sounds very simple. But they look panicked a lot. They ask where do I turn around why turn at the fork. I draw little maps, show them where they can turn around, give them You can do it pep talks. I swear it is like pushing baby birds out the nest. Very wary birds that think Im making up the part about flying.
