Sometimes, when someone significant departs, someone whom youve never met, but has made a huge contribution to your life, there is immense sadness that wells up, inexplicable surge of emotions that you didnt know existed... It is one of those times for me. Rest in Peace, to someone whos been a constant companion to all my train journeys, to all the social functions i was reluctant to attend, to hospital visits and so many places more. I didnt begin reading in English for a very long time, so Tinkle was a little high-brow for me, Chandamama had too many busty babes and quasi-mythological propaganda going on.... But Chacha Chaudhary was something always accessible, with the simplicity of their characters, with its slapstick comedy and with an underlying, unforced moral, Good guys always win. My eyes gleamed with joy at Wheeler Bookstores across stations trying to grab whatever new adventures Sabu, Raaket and Chacha Chaudhary were to undertake. Pran, you made sure that somewhere in corner of the world, a kid was always laughing and was never alone anywhere.... May you rest in peace and make gazillions of kids smile up there wherever you are.
