Sometimes when we try to improve and strive with our endeavours in life with the aim of imparting a positive change for others, there are some who will try to discredit you. Why should we get stuck inside our comfort zones and be obstinate, when the only constant thing in this world is CHANGE? As we grow older, it is wise that we should bury our egos, and be flexible enough to embrace the realities of life. Architecture should not be static. Rather it is pluralistic and should not be boxed by historicist upbringing. (Take note: . I am NOT favouring nor am AGAINST any other schools and schools of thought here.) This is where academic freedom comes into the fore. Architecture Schools are not just mere factories of GRADUATES who can do organised planning and can comply with building codes and pass the board exams, rather it should also nurture a HOLISTIC and not just mere FUNCTIONALIST, IMPERSONAL sense of viewing things which should include social realities - economic, psychological and socio-cultural factors. It has to start among the students, not when you leave the halls of the school.
