Sometimes writing is easy. And then theres the rest of my life when its not. Most days I pace and wrestle with God about what I should say and I what I cant say and why in the world He chose me. And then I go do dishes or find a pile of laundry to fold before resuming the pace. At the Oscars last week Robert De Niro said this: “The mind of a writer can be a truly terrifying thing. Isolated, neurotic, caffeine-addled, crippled by procrastination, consumed by feelings of panic, self-loathing, and soul-crushing inadequacy. And that’s on a good day.” Hmm. Yup. I stand immeasurably grateful that Gods endless mercies and sufficient grace greet me at the end of each day, the good ones and the bad ones.
