Sometimes you just have to do it regardless of the weather forecast & especially if Danielle Griscti & Dennis show up. We met at the Grenadier Restaurant & cycled south to the lake. The snow at this time was falling & it was quite lovely. The ride along the Martin Goodman Trail became challenging as we went along not because of the path but because of the biting ice/snow pelting onto any exposed skin. But we persevered onwards and arrived at the Natrel Rink at Harbourfront! Dennis rented skates - $8 for the day! - and we laced up. BUT the zzzamboni was released and due to a large amount of snow we had to stay inside and wait longer than necessary. No problem because a grilled cheese sandwich was calling D&Ds names and they were warmed up while the zamboni removed the foot of snow! We skated. We skated.We skated. It was lovely until the rain started. But we had lavazza coffee nearby calling our name.... it was a Latte & a Nutella Croissant. Aaah. Now we were ready for the return trip. The bicycle ride back along the Martin Goodman Trail was great as it had just been plowed & salted. The ride through High Park was fine although we couldnt use the bike lane - not clear - and we all made it home with bright red cheeks, lungs full of fresh air & a feeling that it was a heck of a lot of fun!
