Song For The Day - January 22, 2015 Ive been hanging out on the internet since 1993 and from then to now, there has always been a form of social media available to the participants. In the Olden Times we had internet bulletin boards to communicate wants, needs and ideas. Now of course, we have the Ubiquitous Facebook. In between there have been forums in many and varied forms. Theres always been a way to get the word out and for me, one of the very coolest things about the net is that Ive been able, over that time period, to connect on some small level with a number of my musical heroes. With a simple email and a question, or two, I have started friendships with people whos work over the years has inspired me to attempt to create my own words and music. Ive been able to have conversations about their work with them and learn how certain songs came to be, Ive been able to buy their music directly from them, so I know theyre the ones getting the money and Ive gotten autographs from them on those CDs that I value and have no intention of ever selling, theyre a gift to me. So, Im hoping Im not going to get in trouble with the creator of this evenings Song For The Day, who, Im proud to say, is a Facebook friend of mine. This song is from an album released in 1970, called SONGS, that I came to own (and I dont even remember how it happened any longer),and once I had it, it became a part of my musical collection for life. The entire album has a vibe to it that promotes repeated listenings and I was always happy to comply. For my money there is a not a bad cut on the entire disc, however this particular tune has been and still is a high point in the song cycle for me.
