Song of the Day: At first glance an artist like Little Boots should just fade into the background with all the other pretty girl pop of the world, except that she is any but like every other pop artist. She writes and plays on all her tracks which immediately puts her way ahead of any of the prepackaged garbage that is generally thrust upon the public. Her name is more suitable for an angry anarchistic punk or metal band with it being a reference to one of the most infamous Roman emperors Caligula. Finally if you listen to her whole body of work you can hear a real artist pushing the boundaries of the medium in which she works, her latest EP Business Pleasure is completely experimental pop. This track however is from her first album Hands which was an incredible record, 8 perfect pop anthems, then 3 fine but forgettable songs to finish it off, but from the first note of New In Town to the End of Mathematics it is utterly sublime.
