Song of the day: I hope you Dance - Lee Ann Womack Ok, So you have all been good little Elfs so far and have put up with my songs of the day, I appreciate that. Todays song I hope you Dance By the ever adorable Lee Ann Womack. This girl must have one of the nicest voices in Country Music. I was never a big fan of the Yee Haw, thats a real kneeslapper, yup kind of country music but when the younger generation came on the scene it opened up country music to a whole new market making the whole yee haw mentality a bit more popular and more easily accessible. Crossover I think they call it.. Pop music with a twang in the voice is what it is in reality. Anyway, I love this song, its about anything you want it to be about. Hope for the future. A parting wish. Taking that chance. Listen and make up your own mind what you want it to be about. I can remember back in the day at the local disco, many times sitting out the last dance,, in reality that was the last chance of the evening to pick up a girl but no,, real men dont dance.... So you and the other real men who dont dance, who usually turned out to be your mates would walk home alone,, via the curry house of course. Deep in thought while slurping down a Ruby Murray with Chicken thinking about the one that got away,,, just to do it all over again next weekend. Life was so easy back then. I think one of my biggest sitting out the dance moments has to be when I was about 20 years old. I was living in Greece at the time and I was offered a position on a really nice yacht. It was to sail from Piraeus to Catania, Rome, Genoa, Marseille, Barcelona, Cueta then out to some island in the Atlantic then onto Bermuda and finally to the buyer in the Bahamas. We would stop at various ports on the way for more refurbishing and getting supplies and the trip would take something like 6 months. I was going to be paid $5 a day when we were at sea and $20 a day when in port. Once the ship was delivered to the new owner I would get a flight back to anywhere in Europe. Now not a lot of people know this but there are a lot of people who die for chances like that, I turned it down. The trip of a lifetime and I sat the dance out. But,,, there have been many moments when I took that last dance. My current dance is still going on and gets better every day. Todays mission is going to be about taking the chance. You get no suggestions from me but if sometime over the next few days a situation turns up and you are faced with either sitting it out or taking the dance, go for the dance. Seriously, dance or i will come there and slap you myself. By the way, right now I am wondering if anyone actually reads what I write... If you do read what I write, if and when you Like this song, please write (Dance) in the comments. Dont forget to listen to the song.
