Song of the night: Need Somebody by Debarge. 1. If a Black person does the ice bucket challenge....does that make them a sell out? Because reading half my feed one would think so. 2. If a Black person does the ICB and then cuts a check for an HBCU while dumping red Kool Aid on themselves then are they ok? 3. No joke.....we need to do a different challenge thats fun for Sickle Cell awareness and charity to find a cure. Why? 4. Apparently Blacks can only be legit if they give to a charity the mostly Blacks suffer from...according from half my newsfeed and Twitter account. 5. But seriously....we really need to do something for Sickle Cell. Its devastating. Hidratenitis Supprativa too....And I could go on and on....(diabetes, high blood pressure, stop smoking, etc....) 6. For those that have an issue with the water used? I actually share the concern but then again....we waste tons more water on ridiculous things everyday. 7. No.....not every thing you give or do should be public knowledge....but a ton more people know about the disease than before. Every disease needs more people aware of it so we can fight it. 8. For everyone trying to superimpose the IBC with Ferguson....please keep in mind that fighting a physical disease is different than fighting a social malady. And it also doesnt mean that you cant be active in both fights. 9. Its 2014 and we as Blacks have wasted the time that we had to be able to focus on one thing at a time but if we did decide to focus on one thing? 10. That thing would be that we need to focus in actually defining what Black is and who we are so that we can actively and effectively defend it going forward.
