Song review Invisible by U2--9/10 February 2, 2014 In late 2013, U2 released their first studio single in over 3 years titled Ordinary Love, for the Mandela movie. At first I figured that they would probably just release that song and then disappear for 4 more years. But then, months later, they released the anthemic Invisible. Both songs are produced by Danger Mouse, who will hopefully be producing a new album. The song features polished production, blending electronic beats with the classic U2 stadium sound. To me, it sounds like a combination of their last 3 albums, taking the modernism of No Line on the Horizon, the straightforward beat of How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, and the roaring anthem of All That You Cant Leave Behind. The band has said that the song contained influences from punk pioneers The Ramones, and krautrock pioneers Kraftwerk, and you can hear the influences. Good job, Irish legends; we cant wait for the next album.
