He is a stalwart of the NZ music scene and is extremely well respected as a songwriter and performer. As an independent music artist, he manages his career and essentially does it all. He is constantly writing, producing, performing, and working on music as well as his other ventures, which include managing events and hosting a radio and television show. He has represented Kiwi music on an international scale, performing at various festivals and events around the world. As a songwriter, King Kapisi notably won the Silver Scroll Award in 1999 for “Reverse Resistance” and through his own releases and collaborations; he has a huge catalogue of music. This session will focus on song writing, some of the stories behind his songs, and his song writing process. King Kapisi is always direct and honest – and given his wealth of experience and knowledge he will have a lot to discuss and share on the night. We hope you can make it!
