Songs I play loud. I blame John Lawler for this memory: it was 1991, I was not yet 20 and this disc had just come out, but I hadnt heard it yet. Double date in college, FIRST date with this guy, and we were all going to Canada because drinking age was 19 as opposed to the United States. This was played on the drive in from Detroit area, and at first my anti-rap sensibilities rebelled but I found I could NOT stop grooving. This album is such a party album, the perfect backdrop for a night of clubs. You can stop reading here or continue below for the rest of the story. ----------------------------------------- With the album fresh in my head, we hit a few clubs and I tried to get in as much drinking as I possibly could and SUFFERED on the ride back. I was terribly ill. I slumped down in the seat of his brand new car trying not to lose it. There were multiple LONG lines through customs back to the States on the bridge across Windsor (Do you have anything to declare?) and I finally had to roll the window down and...can you see whats coming next? Yeah, I lost it all in front of 40 vehicles packed with partygoers down the outside of his new car. Much cheering from all sides and I slumped back down into the seat, proceeding to pass out while much freaking out about the paint job was underway inside the vehicle. It was not my finest moment, not my finest first date.
