Sonidos del Perú ◊ 27 ◊ RASU ÑITI Trujillo, junio 2013 ••••••• The day was reaching its end. We were back in William Rasu Niti home. A last look around, and we found a vinyl of Vissotski in one corner. Suddenly it all made sense. Trujillo is famed for its culture of dances, la marinera. I asked a friend if he knew anybody in town who would play a marinera type of music, with dancers. The day I arrived back in Trujillo, my friend told me he failed on gatherings dancers, but that he found a poet, supposedly interesting, a local dude. What it takes to make a film on someone you have no idea of... At least, there was no interviews to record. And then, Rasu Niti started to sing. Shivers. I spent the day trying to understand who this man was, where he was from, and why he was not famous all around the country. Back to his home, next to the vinyl, there was a quote - without emotion in the interpretation, the song have no life. Visotsky again. Rasu Niti is a stylist. The stories have all been told. Its all about style, after all. •••••••••••••••• Trujillo es famosa por su cultura de las danzas, la marinera. Le pregunté a un amigo si conocía a nadie en la ciudad que jugaría un tipo marinera de la música, con los bailarines. El día que llegué de nuevo en Trujillo, mi amigo me dijo que él falló en reuniones danzantes, pero que se encontró con un poeta, supuestamente interesante, un tipo local. ¿Qué se necesita para hacer una película sobre alguien que no tienes idea de ... Por lo menos, no hubo entrevistas a grabar. Y luego, Rasu Niti se puso a cantar. Escalofríos. Pasé el día tratando de entender quién era este hombre, de dónde era, y por qué no se hizo famoso en todo el país. De vuelta a su casa, al lado del vinilo, había una cita - sin emoción en la interpretación, la canción no tiene vida. Visotsky de nuevo. Rasu Niti es un estilista. Las historias de todo se les ha dicho.
