Sonny Boy Williamson I was born near Jackson, Tennessee in 1914. His original recordings were considered country blues within style but he soon demonstrated the versatility a harmonica can provide as a leading instrument. He was dubbed the father of the modern blues harp and has been referred by other leading musicians and artists of the time as one of the pioneers of the Delta movement. It his 100th Birthday today and within those years, his influence has sure been felt by the rest of the planet.
