Sonny update: Sonny has been travelling along pretty well since - TopicsExpress

Sonny update: Sonny has been travelling along pretty well since his viruses. His central midline Apnoeas are unfortunately still as frequent and the time they last for is increasing. Its hard to believe it has almost been 12 months since his first episode (6 August 2013). Sonny had both Physio and OT last week. Heidi and Kane dont have any concerns with Sonnys milestones, however OT and Physio have a few concerns with his core strength. We have a few exercises we need to do with Sonny on the days he is up to it. Kane and myself arent too concerned in this area as he is amazing reaching milestones considering everything he has been through. Sonny had two appointments at Monash Childrens yesterday with the ENT (ear nose and throat) & Respiratory teams. They confirmed that we have no option now but to do a lung biopsy, as we are still seeing no sign of improvement with his lungs and he needs grommets as his ears still have chronic ear infections. These procedures are being booked for 4-6 weeks time. We have tried to avoid any General Anaesthetic we possibly can after last time. Doctors now feel they have no other option. Sonny has another air test and respiratory appointment booked for the 14th of July and this appointment will confirm where he is at. Unfortunately Sonny has picked up a bug somewhere yesterday and is now sounding like our own personal popcorn machine. Lets hope it clears quickly and he is ok to fight it off. Sonny started walking everywhere when he was last in hospital. Heidi, Kane and Isla are all extremely proud and so is he 😊. So much so, he even tries to break out into a jog. Thank you all again for your ongoing support. Best wishes to you all. The SOS team & the Millier Family xx
