This attack, and many others, shows Americans, and all humanity, how insecure our technology really is. We are on the receiving end of hacking attacks by China, North Korea, Russia, and many other countries daily. These attacks have become more frequent and are doing more and more damage. Currently, only about 7% of the US grid is considered secure. That means the vast majority of you have an online file that is the most in depth biography of you that will ever be constructed up for grabs. There are serious economic, political, and social implications not having this data secured. As these countries hack US interests, they receive your information and use it to commit fraud and many other crimes. Those that use mobile devices are in the danger zone. Mobile security is lacking more so than other means of connection. As far as digital security, the US is in the top ten, and gaining. Fortunately enough for us, there are private companies and organizations that are leading the charge to secure all communication. Obviously our government, and many others, are concerned with it as well. Be mindful of sites you visit, things you download, and anything else you may do online.
