Soo after two pretty freakin awesome days with my mama, I get reminded that even though you may not always see your parents, you still are their kid biologically. Whether you like it or not. To wit, I love the f*** out of my dad. Physically I am pretty much exactly like my pappy. Dark skinned,brown near-sighted eyes, curly haired(thank god for the zero-two fade.), one-eight of my bloodstream pretty much consists of budweiser and red/green chile juice (thats just my guess. Lol) and I love that. But despite those biological facts, I am very much my mothers child. All the things that make me uniquely me pretty much come from my mama. My personality, my temperment, my sense of humor, my faces, my work ethic yup all from my mama and thats despite the fact I havent seen her on a daily basis in thirteen years. Im still her. Ray Allen looks like Ray and acts a lot like Danette (again with the f***ing third-person, I know.) It could be a hundred years it would still be that way, for many reasons. Mainly cause I came from and spent my most important years with her, and honestly thats whats makes our visits the shit. We never miss a beat. When I see my mama its like its 2000 all over again and Im riding shotty in her car. Its reassurring to me when I see it live, no lie. You are the people who make you, both of them. The ratio of which parent you take after varies for us all, but make no mistake: you are them, for better or worse. Its up to us to makes the best their traits. #DNA #MoreThanJustLetters
