Soon after Tim Berners-Lee invented the world wide web, Hal - TopicsExpress

Soon after Tim Berners-Lee invented the world wide web, Hal Andreesen lead a team at the US National Center for Supercomputing applications developed NCSA Mosaic. Andreesen set up Netscape and engneered a new, clean sheet browser at Netscape. The Netscape browser was eventually put into the public domain and a foundation established to maintain it. That foundation is Mozilla and its current browser is Firefox. The Mozilla foundation, the Electronic Freedom Foundation and others are worried that the FCC is about to break one of the key features of the Internet, net neutrality. This is not a trivial issue, the Internet is where we go for everything from music to news to groceries. What if you couldnt visit the web sites of small companies because they could not put up the money to get sufficient bandwidth to be seen? reference: https://nsf.gov/about/history/nsf0050/internet/mosaic.htm and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mosaic_%28web_browser%29.
