Sooo Boone County, I remember Super Value (then Big Lots), the Gateway where Krogers is (previously Blacks Foodland), Andys pizza where Atkins Denistry is now, AND Ginos Pizza across from the court house, the movie theater across from BOONE NATIONAL BANK (the ticket lady had a little dog with a hairbow), the drive-in theater at the foster intersection, roller skating every friday night at the Wharton Gym (watching Love Boat & Fantasy Island after getting home), my mom on a bowling league with Sandy Agosti at the Low Gap location (later being the skating rink I attended as a teen), big dances at the Wharton Gym, cartoons only on Saturday, Captain Kangaroo in the mornings, riding the mining belt in the winter & lap driving the truck in summer up Cazy hollow, riding on a sled off Cazy Mt, spending all day on my new 10 speed bicycle, traveling a million miles in old junk cars :), the annual community carnivals, all the big church Christmas plays & caroling, the annual Christmas parade was so big you couldnt find a place to stand, swimming under the railroad trussel behind Foodland (the old Kroger), hanging out at the Van Park, the PIT STOP, Charlie Prices store, the Red Parrot, the HUT, Huskies (italian ice), Nates, McCoys, Pucketts Service Station, Bernard Atkins pizza (yum), Sanfords Grocery & Dry Goods, the Spoon, Velmas, Beckys Diner, Sheryls carryout & Robs sporting goods, moms beauty shop :) (Karen Harper White), .....grew up at a wonderful time but now I feel old!!
