Sooo i have successfully completed my first full week here at Stony Brook and it isnt as bad as i thought it would be. Now that its over Ill finally admit how scared I was and how i thought i wasnt ready. There was so much going on in my life and I honestly didnt think I would be able to deal with being here, all my classes, all the work and all the events that are thrown at us to help create this SBU Family. The transition was a little rough at first and I know there are still going to be MANY challenges. After this week, I have realized that the opportunities here are not only amazing, but endless. The people are actually extremely nice and its amazing how there are 16,000 undergraduate students here. Each and every one of us are extremely different, come from different states/countries but we all have respect for each other and get along very well. I thought the Professors were going to be extremely harsh and it would be impossible to maintain good grades. In reality, the professors are extremely understanding and will work with you and help you excel as long as you do all your work on time and show an interest in the class. What doesnt kill you only makes you stronger and that is exactly what is going to help pave my road to success. Although this is just the start of a lengthy nerve-racking journey, I am also excited to be here and take on anything that is thrown my way. Id say its off to a pretty good start.
