Sooo.... it was cold, and windy - as expected. I dealt with some unintended chaos making it to my start line on time. I went out a little too fast, struggled late in the race (again), and didnt hit my goal time (it was a loose ideal, not a specific number I trained for). But.... I ran a 3:36:47, which is good enough for my 4th fastest NYC ever, and my fastest since 2010 - by a long shot. My coach and training partner Kelly Gillen got my a** in gear, I trained harder than I have since I was in my late 20s, and on a day when even the elite runners struggled, going 45+ minutes faster vs 2013 is a great race in my book. Im proud to have battled my body - and the elements - to finish strong, and finish Marathon #10, NYC #8, my 7th in a row* - and my 5th for Team Continuum. Huge thanks to all of you who came out and cheered today. Big hugs to Sandy Baker, Laurie Lewis, Alex DePew & Co, Jesse Ruben, Kyle Patrick-ii, Jonathan Cooper, Ralitsa Petrova, Samantha Hawley, Caleb Evan Hawley, TC Coach John Hirsch and anyone else who was looking for me that I may have missed. Virtual high fives for being there for all 50,000 of us today. We feed off of you all, and cant do it alone. May write a full race report tomorrow, but for now, this closes the book on the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon. Love to you and yours, and may you all keep on runnin.....
