Sooo proud of TEAM SAMBA -- Guaraná band, Escola de Samba de Manila dancers and Maracujá samba drummers for a terrific performance last night at the 2014 Brasilipinas Carnaval & World Cup Party! Almost all of the numbers had all three elements performed LIVE -- the song, the dance moves and the drumming. Each number was carefully choreographed, brilliantly executed and most importantly, ENJOYED by the audience as well as the performers themselves. This is SAMBA and the spirit of CARNAVAL! Heres a quick review (for our friends who could not make it last night): 1) Desfile -- parade (entrance of our samba dancers: Passistas, Meninas da Comunidade, Malandros, Alunas) 2) Opening number: Aquarela do Brasil 3) Pais Tropical 4) samba batucada by Maracujá 5) Todo Mundo the World Cup song led by Nyko Maca & Eileen Sison 6) Ai Se Eu Te Pego 7) Danza Kuduro 8) Echa Palla 9) Velocidade 6 10) Samba de roda, samba jam with the crowd (Unidos no Samba -- the Escola de Samba de Manila school hymn, written by Eileen Sison) Congratulations, TEAM SAMBA!!!
