Soooo, I experienced Louisiana EMS first hand today. While working in the yard, I was stung by unknown insects resulting in a moderate allergic reaction, with almost immediate swelling to my hands, feet and tongue, with extreme ichiness body wide and a unique ruddy color. Called 911, they started an IV tko, 12 lead, o2 and transport. After additional IV meds at the ER, and 2 1/2 hours of observation, I.m home with several meds to be taken over the next week to prevent a relapse. All told an eventfull afternoon.. not one I want to repeat soon.
