Soooo.. at the moment my little jaunt in Hospital this Monday is looking to cost me around $1500.00 ... and that is how much Ill be out of pocket after my insurance picks up what they will. So far Im being told because Its not an emergency or an accident my insurance (BUPA for those who want to know) wont cover hospital time.. Surgery is around $800, Anaesthesia $280, hospital stay $??? at the moment. Was just told by someone this is pretty standard. I guess I would have liked to have been warned by the doctors who recommended this that the costs would be around this as again its a bit of a shock considering Im paying for private cover. Im not panicking as I have the money saved and set aside ... it just wasnt meant to be spent on this however.
