Soooo....today I got a traffic ticket. My first one in many, many years. I was heading north on a semi-busy street in Loveland (Wilson) and wanted to stop at the gas station to get some ice for my ice chest. The gas station was on the south-west corner of Wilson & Eisenhower (hwy 34). I couldnt turn left from Wilson because of a barrier in the road, so I turn left onto Eisenhower and immediately get in the turn lane to turn left into the gas station. Im halfway across oncoming traffic before I realize where Im turning has a Do Not Enter sign but Im now in the crosshairs of oncoming traffic - and for safety reasons must complete the illegal turn. There is a cop sitting at the gas station (on private property) who was already giving a ticket to another driver for doing the exact same thing I did. And Im ticketed also. Victimless crime? Id say so. And actually, if Id chose to not make the turn when I realized it was obscurely marked as Do Not Enter, there likely would have been actual victims due to the oncoming traffic, yet I was still given a ticket. I plan to fight this one in court. Thoughts?
