Sooooooo...Conversation in salon about eye surgery triggered a memory.... Every Stylist knows what I mean when I say, some people just have a need at that moment to dump their garbage , and they choose a random stylist, to unload... This was one of those moments.... An elderly lady, visiting our town, stopped by to have her hair styled and I was available at that moment....soooo.. After consulting about the outcome, we proceeded to the shampoo bowl where the conversation began. She needed a towel to cover her face, as she had just had Cataract surgery and wanted to make sure that no water got in her eyes. Which gave me the perfect opportunity to have a conversation with a stranger without getting personal... Soooooo. I said, Wow, thats awesome, you must be excited to be able to see again, especially without glasses. ( I noticed a slight change in her demeanor) with hesitation, she said, Yeah, its good...(At this point, I had finished the shampoo and I was wrapping her hair with a towel)...she looks slowly around the room, to see who was nearby and starts to whisper, I thought it would be great, but as my vision became clearer, I got a good look at my husband, and MAN, has he aged, whew, he doesnt look so good anymore, and I am having a time adjusting, I liked what I remember, I gotta learn to like what is.!!!!!!!....(she was totally serious)...So I guided her to my chair, and excused myself to the restroom, my urge to laugh was too much !!! I love people!!!........... Today we celebrate freedom, Thank you to all our branches of military, freedom isnt free and we know that and we appreciate your sacrifice...So celebrate with family and friends, laugh, and know that sometimes we have to like what is and not what we remember!!!! Happy Fourth of July.
