Sooooooo...my last long post was about my mom, and drumroll....update.....shes doing much better....HOORAY!!!! Long ways to go, but progress is a beautiful thing.:) Somethng that has NOT progressed is the sound of my angelic voice....still sounding like Marge Simpsons sister since...ehhh hemmm...ummmm....errrrr......The NFC Championship Game....yea.... been a few weeks......ANNNNY WHOOOOOOOOOOO....Finally went to the Doctor after work this past Tuesday. He flat out asked me...Do you want to sound like this for the rest of your life??? And I said Heck no!! Thats when he asked if I knew what Bill Clinton sounded like. Without missing a beat, I said Pre or Post Monica Lewinsky??? Yea....I said that. :) After he got done laughing he told me Clinton sounds like he does due to over abuse of his voice...chronic layringitis, constant speaking engagements, never rests/rested his voice so he will always sound like he does. I dont want to sound like Bill Clinton or Marge Simpsons sister forever, I whined in my awesome raspy voice. Complete Voice Rest for 7-10 days!!!! he ordeerd. Yep. Its like bed rest for a pregnant woman, but in my case....Voice Rest for a crazed Seahawks fan. i know!!! Thats what I said too......LOL!!!!!! I also was referred to a throat specialist. Is it weird that this made me feel special??? Or, is that why they call them specialists. Any way.... I digress. I see said specialist in 2 weeks where he/she will slide a scope down my throat to check things out. Best case scenario is that after this LONG Vow of Silence, everything looks great in there.The old saying Time Heals All Wounds will be quite literal in this case. Worst case is Im like the singer Adele and have to have surgery to repair damage...scar tissue...nodules etc. Yes folks.....my ability to do Kaoroke is in jeopardy....GASP!!!! In all seriousness...I work 2 jobs....both require talking...a LOT of talking....I thank my fellow employees for being my voice and for the ability to read my quick scrawl on my little white board. :) I do want to sing tipsy Karaoke again....I do want to be able to answer the phone at work...I do want to be able to tell my daughters and my family and my future grandchildren that I love them...Ive got lots to say still in this amazing life of mine. So Day 4 is in the books people. I gots one more week to go!!! Many people have asked me, Was it worth it??? And without hesitation, I say Yes. So worth it. Will I do it differently this season?? And without hesitation, I say Yes, because my family is worth it. :) Go Hawks!!!!!
