Soren Kierkegaard was a Christian. However, he lost his faith upon learning of a a great sin that his father committed. He philosophized about the life oriented toward the pursuit of pleasure and how greater and greater pleasures must be experienced in order to experience the same satisfaction (Maybe this is why some of those Tango ladies are so hard to please.) In addition, he thought about the futility of the businessman whose life is spent toiling at gathering riches. If such a man were crushed by something falling on his head, he claimed would just laugh. ‘not necessarily your most “feel good” philosopher.
