Sorry I didnt post sooner Im trying to have a sinus infection from not sleeping so am not feeling top drawer. Charley had another small stroke today but though the side effects were mild, just some confusion, he had good color & seemed in good spirits. All my life Ive wanted to be one of the people who sat on a jury but the years have gone by & I was never chosen. Our son was picked last year though he never had to actually go down to the Warren County Courthouse but once. The Powers that Be have a wicked sense of humor I got a letter Saturday stating Ive been the lucky recipient of the award of being on Jury duty for the month of January! Though this time I must come down to the courthouse on January 1st whether the Judge deems Charleys problems an OK excuse for not being on the jury this time or not whoopee! I called the VA today & asked his doctor to please bring a letter of excuse for me as with Erin starting her new part time internship with the law office December 1st & I will not have anyone to stay with him while Im gone. Though Jack volunteered he just cant get the hang of dialing 911. Of course the VA didnt know why I didnt make use of the facilities they have for families who have ill like Charley who need to be somewhere for the day yet he wont be alone a nurse is there with all the patients. I explained living 40 minutes one way from them would be a very tiring journey for Charley not to mention then for me it would be 40 minutes to Norwalk & another 20 to Indianola so Id have to start almost 3 hours early to be at the Warren County Courthouse on time for the meeting with the judge or to sit in the room & wait to see if I was called for duty. I dont think my arthritis would stand all the driving! So Ill keep you posted on whether I get to play Perry Mason or not.
