Sorry I missed putting up my holiday offering last night--- I was watching the bonus features on The Desolation of Smaug and forgot about it. Todays offering is a little obscure, and in fact is rather hard to find nowadays. Radio City Music Hall was perhaps the only theater to keep retain a staff organist after the rise of sound movies, and for many years Dick Leibert held this position. Over the years he made several recordings of Christmas music there--- something made all the more difficult by the incessant schedule at RCMH, which also required that all the recording equipment be cleared out at the end of every third-shift recording session. I first heard a track off these on one of my parents Christmas compilation albums, and then, as a freshman in college, found an RCA gatefold album which collected both LPs in one package.
