Sorry, I should have explained. Torben disappeared on Saturday - TopicsExpress

Sorry, I should have explained. Torben disappeared on Saturday evening while we were out picking raspberries in North Jutland DK. I had moved to a ridge further up and off the track. It looks like he decided to come and find me and left Maria, Eddie and Judith. He continued down the track and left it entering a woods. Maria came looking for him and we couldnt find him. 30 minutes in we decided to call in the police as there was no sign of him and we couldnt hear him anywhere. Night was falling and we knew that this would make it more difficult and heavy rain was due. The police arrived with dog handlers and they swept the roadside area with no result. A chopper was called in with IR heat sensing equipment was brought in and the search became intense. Night fell and we were asked to stay at the house as the dogs would be less effective with multiple scents in the area and also the chopper would be more capable of locating body heat. They searched all night calling in another chopper and another team of dogs and handlers. The rain started at 2am. Nothing was located. The rain got heavier and the temperature dropped and we thought that ......I wont say but the faces of the emergency guys made it obvious that this was not good. Come first light at 4am I went back out and followed what I believed to be Torbens path. I checked one of the big local farms and all of the out buildings and found nothing. This meant he must have left the path earlier. Soren, Saoirse and Connor were never far from my mind and in a strange way it was comforting rather that the normal feeling I have when I realise they were not here. There was a beech woods which was easier for him to walk through and that was my next focus point. I went in and headed for high ground to see what was to be seen. A log at the end of a steep path had something which caught my eye so I skidded down to it but nothing. Back up to the top and further into the woods. There was a game path in a flatter area and that seemed to me a reasonable starting point I headed for it. The light was getting better and on the other side of the path up the slope I noticed something that looked like a tree stump but it was blue. I ran over and it was Torben. He was face down wide eyed and not moving. My heart stopped as I reach for him, he was ridged. I picked him up and felt the heat from his chest he cried out and I knew he was alright. My heart started beating again. The world returned to a better place and I brought him home to Mor. He is now the same little chirpy toddler and hale and hearty. Dont need this drama in our lives.
