Sorry Ive a little bit of a moan to post about tonight so stop reading if you dont want to read my moan of frustration post..... Last week I rang ticketek to purchase a wheelchair accessible ticket plus 2 able bodied tickets to tonights Tall Blacks basketball game in Tauranga. The man on the phone said, Sure, we only have 1 section for wheelchair seating which is court side, their $45 each but the stadium safety rules are that wheelchair users are required to have a companion/caregiver with them incase you have to move quickly for players coming off court during the game and for evacuation purposes. I thought about it for a moment and then asked, How much is it for the companion ticket?, $45 as well. I felt ripped off because on the website there were about 3 or 4 different prices that able bodied spectators could purchase - most of them under $45! It would have been great to watch the Tall Blacks playing court side and you all know how much of a basketball fan I am, but I really couldnt justify paying $90 for 2 tickets where the stadium are pretty much forcing me to pay an extra $45 for the 1 wheelchair accessible ticket Im wanting, to watch the game! So Im watching it from home tonight in front of the fire with the family.
