Sorry folks, looks like we will have one more meeting. An amendment to the rulebook requiring that the injury report form be sent to CSAC within 12 hrs following each event and all serious injuries must be reported within 2 hrs. I have no issue with this and agreed to include it in our rules. Putting our feet in their shoes, understand that this is of enormous interest not only to Assemblywomen Susan Bonilla but also Governor Jerry Brown and a number of other politicians. Someone scared the bejesus out of these politicians and they probably dont want to be held accountable if any child is hurt on their watch. CSAC is tasked with ensuring this does not happen and its up to us to execute the plan. Since they have not experienced actual Youth Pankration, the closest cousin, MMA is probably used to access and compare. On my opinion this explains our feeling of overkill. Agree or not, we cannot take this responsibility lightly. We will follow all the rules and regulations and must have all referees, inspectors and even coaches vetted and fully trained. With the help of many others I have created a referee, Judge and Inspector certification class to include an online written exam. We need all our officials to complete these tasks and must only use officials fully vested in the future of this sport. I was told early on by a Marine Corps Colonel that he accessed our inaugural Camp Pendleton event by solely watching the referees. Thus far we have a very small but extremely dedicated cadre but need more! If you are an experienced Jiujitsu or Grappling referee interested in becoming part of this please have them reach out to us. If the backbone of events are officials, the core of Pankration are coaches. With the help of several experts in their fields am in the process of creating a comprehensive coaches manual to include information on injury prevention, weight management and nutrition for youth, prevention and care of contagious skin conditions and psychological tips for coaching youth athletes. I truly hope that coaches of youth Pankration fighters embrace this. This is our best insurance policy to ensure long term success. God Bless all the parents, coaches and supporters who have stayed true to our cause, without them there is no way CSAC would have invested so much time in this matter. I know CSAC is trying to help and they not our enemy but I hope karma catches up on those who set off this series of unfortunate events.
