May 2 -7:30pm It is the final weekend of performances for Portland State Universitys production of the opera, A Midsummer Nights Dream. Tickets are $15-$26. The concert will end with an invigorating performance of Beethovens iconic Symphony No. 5 with guest conductor Peter Shannon. Student tickets start at $5 with regular admission at $45. Special guest musicians from the Metropolitan Youth Symphony in the lobby before the show, starting at 6:30. -8:00pm Cappella Romana presents A Time for Life, a work by Robert Kyr, commissioned by Cappella Romana for its premiere in 2007. The group will be joined by string players of the Third Angle New Music Ensemble. The performance will be at Rose City Park Presbyterian Church and there is a free will offering. -4:00pm Community Music Center - Portland Parks & Recreation presents a Faculty Showcase Benefit Concert. The program will also feature Moussorgskys wonderful Pictures at an Exhibition.
