Sorry for the late update!!! Yesterday was filled with travel, admissions and interviews to get doctors caught up on her case. We feel REAL COMFORTABLE with the medical staff and the facility. Our friends (they started out as Kaitys caregivers - but we left as dear friends) at Ochsner did an awesome job of dealing with her issues to their capacity - but they werent equipped with the supplies/equipment she needed that a burn center could provide. We are eternally grateful for their attempts!!! While the burn center in Houston wouldnt accept her because she needed to be in ICU - they are located in the same complex and bring all of their stuff to her. The ICU staff is awesome as well as all of the teams we have met. She made the trip with minimal issues and by last night was re bandaged and resting comfortably. I arrived via plane after her because my doctor did not want me making the drive. Mike and Clark drove in yesterday evening. Today is focused on finding us housing since last night was a downtown sellout around the downtown area and we ended up in a room in Pearland, TX. Only about 12 miles away, but when you are spoiled by the Brent House being attached, it seemed a bunch further. We are confident we will find a place closer. To our friends and family that are and have been taking care of EVERYTHING for us so that we can concentrate on the medical care - THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS!!! I am already overwhelmed with my appts and Kaitlyn - it would be IMPOSSIBLE without yalls help and its scary being here without yall - but the services yall are providing with our home is a true blessing!!!! It is hard knowing we wont be able to see Chad, Nina and our hearts at will - but as I told Connor yesterday, we are going to get KK better and be home as soon as possible!! Also, anyone interested in attending the Prayer Mass that St Phillip Neri Church is holding for Kaity - it is Monday, August, 18, 2014 at 7 p.m. Thank you to those in our neighborhood who arranged this.
