Sorry for the long post... So I get the privilege to play at a church Ive been going to for a little over 2 yrs now. This is the only place where I play and use my gear. Within that time, I generally play 2-3 Sundays a month for about 6 hrs each Sunday (practice+2 services) and do so with no pay. Like I said, I consider it a privilege to play and to play at this church and am not upset at all about not getting paid...What I find myself questioning is at times, I get embarrassed on stage because my delay started freaking out throughout the set or my amp started making weird noises etc... and I dont have the money to just buy new gear or fix it. Ill be honest, Id also just like to purchase some new stuff to bring out some better quality. :) As someone who faithfully tithes, Ive been thinking about withholding some tithe money to purchase/fix gear. Not looking to make a habit of this by any means, just looking to get some feedback on whether anyone here has done this. Ive been praying about it and havent got a clear answer one way or another just yet... Thanks!
