Sorry friends, you may call me cynical but I can’t stop sharing - TopicsExpress

Sorry friends, you may call me cynical but I can’t stop sharing my feelings; in the working of our democracy “WE, THE PEOPLE” are mere words in the Constitution___without any meaning; like “socialism” and “secularism”, policy makers are political Executive, particularly the Party High Command of Congress and Parliamentary Board of BJP, civil servants are mere servants to execute the policies; Judiciary’s job is just to call balls and strikes and not to pitch or bat…Judiciary can have no policy; Ministers are there to execute the party policy, moment they have their own policy they are out, look at Oil Ministers Mani Shankar Aiyer who was replaced overnight for his policy of Iran-Pakistan-India gas pipeline which does not suit US interests and Jaipal Reddy who does not come under the favorite category of Reliance Now therefore, everything depends upon the political leadership. Someone with very good intentions who is also playing the game….Arvind Kejriwal is not counted because AAP is not going to make any huge impact on Indian democracy……nor are the people going to deviate from caste/community/religion based voting pattern….we’ve to admit this fact and live within those limitations, till the time things are changed for a better…. So the real players are the two potential Prime Ministerial candidates of two major parties (subject of course to the clout of regional super stars like Mulayam, Mamata, Mayawati, Jayalalithaa, Chandrababu Naidu, Sharad Pawar, Nitish Kumar, Naveen Patnaik etc….hope they would at least act as a corrective force after the elections…or else we would be ruled by autocrats) …............. The following are some factors which suddenly came to my mind when I think of these two leaders; my personal opinions within my limited understanding subject to corrections…… Rahul Gandhi compared with Narendra Modi……. Rahul Gandhi has not been in the Government, therefore his (Congress Party) Government’s actions are detailed for assessing him. For Modi most of his ideas are now well known. Rahul Gandhi Good MNREGA, RTI, RTE, FSA, Pan India image. Bad sycophancy Corruption during UPA rule: Bofors case, ASG asking to de-freezing the account of Quatrocchi immediately after Govt. coming to power in 2004 itself, Scams, 2G spectrum, coal scam, files missing, black money case, application for recall of SC Order Narendra Modi Good Gujarat’s economic development, corruption frees Government (fiscal honesty). Bad 2002 Godhra riots, flaring up communal passion BAD FOR BOTH Both wish to weaken democratic Institutions: one by pushing party nominees to all Institutions, CVC, CAG, CEC, CBI, (earlier trying to control some law officers who quit) and now trying to tame a Judiciary. The other bypasses Lokpal, Governor, Press, Civil Servants under the State Govt., Civil Liberties Both are in favour of crony capitalism.
