Sorry if this is redundant, but Ive been off line for the last 10 - TopicsExpress

Sorry if this is redundant, but Ive been off line for the last 10 days and just getting caught up on the Hobby Lobby ruling. Two things concern me most about it. First, although the five conservative justices said the ruling applies only to the specific forms of contraceptives cited, I see nothing in their rationale to prevent Catholic business owners from suing to block coverage of ANY forms of birth control in their employee health care plans. Or to use religious beliefs to justify discrimination against LGBT employees. Second, it appears that with this ruling the five conservative justices have now erased the line that used to separate religious institutions from for-profit businesses. I see this as a HUGE first step down a slippery slope that will inevitably result in further expansion of religious rights for corporations. What are the strongest/most compelling arguments from those who support the ruling?
