Sorry its been a while since I last posted, baby Hadidy is now here safe and sound and its back to work and hopefully Egypt soon! For all of you in resort now you will know the clocks changed on Thursday night for Ramadan, there is now only a 1 hour difference between Egypt and the UK, this will last until the end of July then it will switch back to a 2 hour time difference. This week is seeing some pretty toasty temperatures, highs of 45/46 degrees. Make sure you are using plenty of high factor sun cream and keeping hydrated to avoid sun stroke and the famous egyptian tummy. If you do feel unwell make sure you drink plenty of water, keep the air con on medium (not high!) and do not try to use UK meds as they wont work on egyptian tummy, you will need to see the hotel doctor or the local pharmacy for antinal which should get rid of any bugs within a matter of hours. Exchange rate at the moment is around 12.1 in resort, the UK exchange rate is increasing but its still slightly better in Egypt. Remember you can use sterling, dollars and euros out here aswell and most hotels have a machine in the lobby if you do require to change money into egyptian pounds. For those of you looking to venture out and explore let me assure you that Sharm is safe and so is the desert, some of the larger tour operators still have their trips cancelled unnecessarily and we have had a few of you expressing concern over leaving your hotel. Rest assured we have trips running every day into the desert 5 times a day, there has never been any issues and if there were we would certainly halt the trips straight away. The FCO warnings have not changed and the Sharm el sheikh resort area is in green, deemed as safe as are both Cairo and Luxor. For all your excursion, wifi and taxi needs we can be found at our office in Ras Nasrani but we also come out to every hotel in Sharm el Sheikh. We have lots of fantastic summer offers and can tailor any excursion to suit individual needs. We can be contacted at the office, on Facebook, email ([email protected]) or through our website at sinaiexcursions.co.uk. Look forward to seeing some of you in sunny Sharm soon!
