Sorry no one has updated yet, it has been a very long day. Where to even begin.... I went back to meet my doctor doing the procedure and he had already talked with my GI so they knew the plan they wanted, which I was so happy about. Due to allergies and my RSD, I was put completely to sleep, thank goodness because it was a rough surgery. Surgery was supposed to be 30-45 minutes and was over 2 hours. My surgeon called my GI doctor during surgery who immediately came down to help a little. When they got in there, my intestines were completely paralyzed and not looking good. I think they said it took three tubes to finally get one in. The gtube was easy, but when it came to the jtube is where the problems were. The tube kept wanting to go the normal track that would go to my blockage where the SMA Syndrome affects me. He finally got one in my new connection of intestines (from my surgery in June) and then it kinked and he had to redo it again. With some of this news, I will be returning next week and we will be doing a dye study through my jtube to figure out what is going on with my intestines, hopefully. Since surgery we have a drainage bag hooked to my gtube and its draining a ton which is good. Tomorrow I will try 5 ml of formula through my jtube. My GI says we will know right away whether my intestines will handle anything. We will probably need to do a separate jtube soon that is further down my intestines past the SMA syndrome and everything. I am at the hotel for now and didnt have to stay! They were doing a terrible job managing my pain and I know we can do it better! We made it halfway home and stopped at the hotel by childrens hospital. Tomorrow we will get up and finish the drive home! Thank you all so much for the prayers and support! Please pray I can have a restful night and healing will begin. Pray the meds will help greatly with pain and no make me sick.
