Sorry not sorry for continuing on my Pit Bull rant, but what is especially tragic about the treatment/dogma/stereotype of the breed is that many people fail to recognize the inherent affection, sweetness, intelligence, loyalty, friendliness and desire to please of the pit bull breeds. Ive been companion and caretaker to quite a few dogs in my life and while Ive loved them all, Ive never seen a breed that is, in general, as human focused as pit bulls. Yes, some have been bred to be aggressive, but there are also large numbers of dogs that fall in to this category which have been rehabilitated. When news comes of a rehabbed dog attacking another dog or person Ill be interested to hear about it, because the vast majority of the pits out there have been rescued from pretty horrible circumstances, and yet we hear nothing about oh the neighbors said he was such a quiet dog, kept to himself, loved tending his geraniums...whod have known hed walk in to a dog park and commit a mass slaying. Given the bias against them youd think the media would jump all over such a situation were one to occur. #pitbulllove #dontbullymybreed
