Sorry this is later then I thought.I literally just got finished with the dishes.So the time is finally here. The History of Pennys All American As told by Penny Rodriguez on Facebook December 2011 and January 2012 Post #1 December 1,2011 So Facebook Family here it goes.Its a little long.My story begins September 1989.Dale and me are happily married living in our first home in Oceano,California on Wilmar Street. Ryan is a adorable 5 year old and my sweet Derek is 2 years old. Dale is working at Ventura Camp as a fire captain for Cal Fire and I am working at the Cliffs Restaurant in AG.(Its Franciscos Country Kitchen now) The owners were Cliff and Eve.When I interviewed for the job they just needed a opening server.I had told them I was a opening server for Perkos for 2 years which is now the vacant IHOP in Grover Beach by Vons.They hired me on the spot.My shift started at the unbearable hour of 5:30am and It was a long 8 hour shift. I was 27 years old and I was the youngest one there.The servers there had been there for years and I knew my place.I knew I had to make my own way.They were harsh and they were tough but I knew I could handle it. The hardest part of the job was Cliff.He was in his mid 60s and he was so cranky.He would yell constantly but I just got used to it after months. So one morning I am serving on the right side and I have half the counter.I am picking up orders and to my surprise I turn around and I see my old boss.Mr.Danny S.He greets me with a smirky smile and pops himself down on the counter stool right in front of the cook line.I am very very suspicious.I know this man.He goes after what he wants and he has no restrictions.The reason why I know this is I worked for him for 2 years at that Perkos in Grover Beach.He was a manager there in till it went out of business and was his opening server for over 2 years.So we chat and he asks about my family.It was not long in till he blurts out Do you want to come work for me? He explains to me he just bought this cafe in Pismo Beach and he wants me to come check it out. He grabs a napkin and writes down the address 1053 Price Street.He wants to know what time I get off and says Meet me at 3 today.As I am trying to do my job..Cliff overhears Danny talking to me and runs out to the counter and yells at him How dare you come to my establishment and try and take my employee!!!! Danny winks and walks out.Cliff is furious and he motions me to the side. Are you leaving me??? I feel bad but I am honest and tell him I am going to see the place and I will let you know. So my shift ends and back in our early days Dale and me have only one truck so he comes and picks me up with Derek and I tell him I have to go check out this cafe in Pismo Beach.We head to Pismo and I am so nervous. We find it.Its a small cozy and quaint little place and Dale drops me off. I walk through the front door and Danny comes and hugs me. Post #2 tomorrow.
