Sorry to break it to my hard drinking friends in radio, but the Keystone XL pipeline has nothing to do with transporting cheap beer. On Tuesday, the Senate voted against the Keystone XL pipeline, which would have brought Canadian oil into the U.S. All 45 Republican Senators voted for the project. Only 14 Democrats and independents voted yes, which caused the bill to fail by one vote. The Keystone XL pipeline needs an image makeover. Rename it, “The Maple Leaf Vente Stream” and more latte lapping liberal in the Senate are bound to vote yes. Ironically, there are striking similarities between the Keystone XL pipeline and the U.S. Senate. One is a conduit for the remains of creatures so old they walked the earth with dinosaurs. The other is an oil pipeline. One is a cylindrical object full of a lubricant so slick, it can grease almost anything. The other is an oil pipeline. One is a symbol of backroom deals with foreign governments and large corporations. The other is an oil pipeline. bit.ly/1r5egCN
