Sorry to have kept you all waitng for an update. Was spent and took a nap with him and enjoyed his time with Papa since he came down to be with him today. Surgery went well, just lasted longer than we expected it to because his skin is so fragile his surgeon wanted to be extra careful so a 40 minute procedure turned into almost 2 and a half hours. The valve needed to be replaced on the shunt as it was sluggish. They had to go in through his original resection site (again). He came out of it beautifully again and acted as though he hadnt just been through another surgery. Once again my patience was tested as they changed the dressing on his central line with the wrong dressing. Robbie is very allergic the the tagederm dressing they use and needs sorbaview dressing instead. Luckily I checked it immediately and noticed the error, but with the amount of times Ive had to address this, one would think it is in his chart already, while it was not at the time, I was politely firm in my request, and it now is. He has been playful and talkative. He has been eating and drinking well. He hasnt needed any pain meds and hasnt once complained about his head. The left side of his face is a little puffy and he looks like he has a slight black eye, but great otherwise. He has once again amazed all with his strength. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts, I still firmly believe they play a role in all of this. The photo below was while he was still in recovery!
