Sorry to hijack Michelles wonderful group! As so many of you here have Rommie rescues, I was after some advice please about my Rommie girl (not adopted through this group). My girl is petrified of virtually everything except for me & my bf. She tolerates my (very nosey) cats but,has snapped at them a couple of times. We cant take her for walks as she just wont move & she shakes like a leaf when you get her harness or leads out. I had to carry her to & from the car & into the vets when we went to register her there (she weighs 25kg). Weve tried leaving her harness on her bed & using positive reinforcement & whilst she is used to seeing it,if we try putting it on her the same thing happens. She spends most of her time asleep on the sofa & looks terribly depressed :( when she goes into the backyard with me,she will wag her tail & play a little & seems much happier. Any suggestions on what we can try to build her confidence please? Shes already had a traumatic start in her life & I dont want to force her into doing anything if it will make her feel worse. Thank you.xxx
